Yangshuo is not only the paradise for back-packers, but is also a very interesting and exciting place to visit. It lies in the northeast of Guangxi Province and to the southeast of Guilin. With a long history of 1400 years, Yangshuo has been a dream place for many tourists who want to see the beautiful natural landscape and the real Chinese countryside life.

Yangshuo has so much to see that it’s hard to pinpoint what are the best sites. Big Banyan Tree Park and the Moon Hill are two very famous sights in Yangshuo and you won’t want to miss seeing them. Visitors can climb up to the top of the Moon Hill via the 900 stone stairways to see the panoramic fantastic view of Yangshuo. Be sure to bring your camera for this.

Another fascinating activity in Yangshuo is “The Third Sister Liu Impression” outdoors evening performance. This has the biggest natural stage in the world and is built in the Li River, which stretches for 2 kilometer’s long with 12 mountain peaks as its background. All performers are local, mostly from Zhuang and Yao background and more than 600 people play on the performance. You won’t want to leave Yangshuo without going on this spectacular one.

The Popular Sights of Yangshuo:
West Street: A 600 meters long cobble-stoned lane with all sorts of western bars, cafes and restaurants, Chinese art shops and clothes stalls. It becomes an informal symbol of Yangshuo because of its unique blend of eastern and western cultures.

Xingping Old Town: The cruise from Guilin down to Yangshuo, one of the highlight parts of the Li River cruise is near Xingping Town, which is the 27 kilometers to Yangshuo with 1300 years history. The landscape near Xingping Town has been reproduced in many Chinese landscape paintings; even the newly issued 20RMB Bill has the scenery on its back.

Yulong Bridge of Baisha Town: Yulong Bridge is a nice stone arch bridge on the upper reach of Yulong River, which is the largest tributary running into the Li River in Yangshuo. For visitors who are looking for a fabulous hike in Yangshuo will start here and head on the path down river to Gao Tian. You can get magnificent countryside view along 5 hours hiking.

Liu Gong Village: The village is a well worthy the visit for tasting the real Chinese countryside life in Yangshuo. The stone paths, ornate roof tops and the odd pigpen reflect a way of life that has continued for nearly 500 years. This village is not often visited by normal tourists and it is special for its old houses, town gate and the three ponds.
